Pinehurst:  One of America’s Most Beautiful and Famous Resorts

Nestled among the longleaf pines in the Sandhills of North Carolina is one of the most storied golf resorts of all time.  Pinehurst was originally developed as a winter retreat for New Englanders.  The genuine Southern hospitality that first drew guests here back in 1895 hasn’t faded over time.  It lives on at Wellspring Family Camp.

Pinehurst is most famous for its golf.  Known as the St. Andrews of American golf, and with eight world-class golf courses designed by the lines of Rees Jones, Tom Faxio and Ellis Maples, more individual national championships have been contested at Pinehurst than anywhere else.

The resort is also renowned for its spa.  The 31,000 square foot tranquility spa offers therapeutic baths, refreshing facials and more than 40 other treatment options.  The rich heritage of Pinehurst is evidence in the elegant architecture and spa facilities, including whirlpool, sauna, steam room and indoor pool.

GOLF

Pinehurst was voted the world’s best golf resort in 2007 by T+L Golf Magazine.  This golf resort has witnessed countless moments in golf history, from Hogan's first professional win, to Payne Stewart's dramatic 18th hole putt that led to his 1999 U.S. Open victory. Bobby Jones so revered Pinehurst, he connected it to golf's homeland as the "St. Andrews of United States Golf."

Pinehurst continues it's tradition and long-time commitment to amateur golf as site of the 2008 U.S. Amateur Championship starting right after the conclusion of Wellspring Family Camp.

With eight world-class golf courses and The Pinehurst Golf Academy, this historic resort offers an unparalleled golf vacation experience.

The Putting Green has been expanded to nine holes, allowing you to set up your own mini-putting course. There is an outdoor fountain as well.  The West Lawn Putting Green is lighted, so you’ll be able to practice long after the sun goes down.

The Driving Range is also available to all Wellspring families, during scheduled Wellspring activities and at other times.
